Noel Gallagher has enlisted the Cure’s Robert Smith to remix “Pretty Boy,” a track from Gallagher and his band the High Flying Birds’ new album. Listen to the remix below.

Of the link-up, Smith said in a press release, “I was surprised and delighted when Noel asked me to remix this gorgeous song, and I had a lot of fun slowing it down and spacing it out—Cure drummer Jason Cooper gave me a great vibey drum track to play along with—and the rest just phased into place under the starry sky of my distant moon….”

Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds will release Council Skies on June 2, through Gallagher’s label, Sour Mash. Speaking about the album back in 2020, he said, “I’ve written a tune that sounds very much like the Cure, and I didn’t even have to dial back the copyright, it just sounds like the Cure. It’s called ‘Pretty Boy.’”

Smith, for his part, is ceaselessly pronouncing the imminent arrival of a new Cure album. No details have yet been confirmed. In the past few years, he has also remixed Chvrches and Deftones.
