The Carolina Panthers had themselves an interesting 2022-23 NFL season.

They spent the season going through quarterbacks and coaches.

However, they still came close to winning their division.

While they fell short, they go into 2023 with a laundry list of issues they need to address.

They already addressed their head coaching issue by hiring Frank Reich.

However, they still have an issue with their quarterback position.

For Panthers analyst John Ellis, he feels signing Jacoby Brissett can be a “logical choice” for the team.

Brissett is coming off a solid season where he filled in for Deshaun Watson during his 11-game suspension.

Ellis feels bringing him in to help a first-round quarterback pick by the Panthers will work out.

However, the Panthers have Matt Corral, who the team got in the 2022 NFL Draft.

While Corral was out with a Lisfranc injury this season, he can compete in 2023 for a roster spot.

But Ellis isn’t thinking about Corral, who inserted himself into the starting quarterback competition in 2022.

With Corral being hungry for the starting job, a quarterback in the first round might not be in the Panthers’ plans.

However, if they don’t draft a quarterback, they can still use Brissett to help their current quarterback group.

His 2022 season saw him passing for 2,608 yards and 12 touchdowns.

While he wasn’t lights out during games, he keeps his team close during games.

If the Panthers are looking for a bridge quarterback, Brissett can hold down the fort until the franchise finds their next guy.

With his experience, it makes sense to bring him in on a short-term deal to help the Panthers.
