One person injured in house fire on Lorraine Street

BATON ROUGE – Baton Rouge Firefighters responded to a house fire on the 2700 block of Lorraine Street, where at least one person was injured as a result.

According to officials, the cause of the fire has yet to be determined. Crews arrived on the scene to find little smoke and no fire visible. All occupants were outside of the home.

Crews entered the home, finding light smoke on the first floor and heavy smoke and heat on the second floor. They were able to locate a small fire in the corner of a second floor bedroom. Firefighter were able to extinguish the fire before it could further spread around the property.

The room below sustained water damage and the entire home received moderate to heavy smoke damage. 

No details on the condition of the injured victim. The fire remains under investigation.
