NFL Insider Says 1 Team Will Have A ‘Very Busy And Pricey Summer’

The Cincinnati Bengals have knocked on the door of a Super Bowl win for the past couple of years.

They had a shot at the Vince Lombardi trophy two years ago but fell to the Los Angeles Rams.

Then, they lost in the AFC Championship Game vs. the Kansas City Chiefs, but it’s evident that this core of players is special and can get the job done.

With that in mind, the Bengals are looking to keep the band together for the long run and have already started making their bids to get contract extensions out of the way, according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, via Dov Kleiman.

Fowler reported that the team has officially made a bid to Joe Burrow’s camp, citing that there could be a lot of back and forth and could be a long process.

Burrow has already hinted at the possibility of taking a pay cut or accommodating his new contract so the team can also pay some of his fellow playmakers.

Fowler explained that the team is also looking forward to getting that deal done so they can focus on paying the rest of the team, mainly WR Tee Higgins and LB Logan Wilson.

Burrow would be wise to take a page from Tom Brady’s book and agree to take less money in return for a championship-caliber team.

Even so, he’s still expected to fetch a historically-high deal, especially considering how much the quarterback market has blown up since Patrick Mahomes signed that massive ten-year deal.
