NFL Fans React To Top Prospect’s Troubled Pro Day

Before the NFL Combine, Jalen Carter was reported to be a top choice to be the number one overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.
However, news came out about a car crash that he was involved in, which sparked a debate about Carter’s character.
Carter did perform well at the combine despite the rumors that were circulating about him.
The same cannot be said about his recent Pro Day, per ESPN’s Mark Schlabach.
Update: Georgia DL Jalen Carter couldn’t finish his position drills due to breathing heavily and cramping up, according to @Mark_Schlabach

Many reports have indicated that Carter was significantly heavier at this Pro Day than at the combine.
He was also unable to complete many of the drills due to cramping, which many have attributed to his weight gain.
After these reports came out, many NFL fans reacted on Twitter, commenting on what this meant for Carter’s future.

Some fans have concluded that Carter is just tanking his drills so he moves down in the draft, and will be able to play for a contender.
However, there is a stark difference in guaranteed money for the first overall draft pick and the 30th overall draft pick.
Many aren’t buying this narrative, including this fan.
I hate calling a player a bust too soon, but all these recent incidents scream it. I also don’t believe he’s purposely dropping his stock for a better team bc going below the 1st round into the 2nd is way less money. Hopefully, he falls into a good situation and gets it together.

Carter’s weight gain and diminished production could be a result of his off-field incidents that have recently surfaced.
As another fan adds, Carter has recently experienced the death of a teammate.
Let’s remember this young man lost a teammate a few months ago. I feel for him and the Georgia organization. Just my penny of a thought

Ultimately, there are very few that are privy to this situation, as Carter hasn’t said much publicly.
The next several weeks will be telling, as more information is likely to arise about Carter.
With the draft rapidly approaching, the public will soon learn what NFL teams really think about Carter.
