NFL Analyst Reveals His Cowboys Offseason Grade

The Dallas Cowboys have been a disappointment over the last few years despite fielding one of the NFL’s more talented teams across the board.

So far this offseason, they have made a couple of nice moves, including the acquisition of cornerback Stephon Gilmore and wide receiver Brandin Cooks, while letting go of declining running back Ezekiel Elliott.

LeSean Shady McCoy, a former running back, gave the Cowboys a “B” grade for their offseason moves, and he said that there’s one thing they haven’t done that would’ve earned them a perfect grade from him.

He said that the ultimate weakness of the team is still quarterback Dak Prescott.

Playing QB for the Cowboys is one of the most stressful and scrutinized jobs in all of sports, partly because it comes with exalted expectations.

In seven NFL seasons, all of which have been with Dallas, Prescott has made the playoffs four times, but he has failed to take his team to the NFC Championship Game.

In the last two years, Prescott’s crew has lost to its longtime rival, the San Francisco 49ers, and in both of those losses, he has played poorly.

This past season in the Cowboys’ divisional round loss to the Niners, he threw two interceptions and completed just 62.16 percent of his passes in a 19-12 defeat.

Prescott may be suffering from the same syndrome his predecessor, Tony Romo, was afflicted with: the ability to look very good in the regular season, but the inability to raise his game under pressure in the playoffs.
