NBA GMs Were Left Shocked By 2 Major Trades

There were a few major changes to the NBA during the latest offseason.

Quite a few trades shook things up and got people talking but a few rose above the rest and really dominated the conversation for some time.

Two of the biggest deals of the summer didn’t only surprise fans, they surprised NBA general managers too.

47% of the NBA GMs are in agreement that the most surprising move of the offseason was Rudy Gobert to the Timberwolves.

47% of GMs surveyed feel that the most surprising move of the offseason was the trade that sent Rudy Gobert to the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Meanwhile, 43% feel that the trade that landed Donovan Mitchell with the Cleveland Cavaliers was the biggest, most shocking change.

No matter which trade shocked you more, we can all agree that both of these were massive and could change their teams and even the league.

Major Moves

Gobert to the Timberwolves was certainly shocking because it transported someone who is considered a top-five center by many to an up-and-coming team that already has a few superstars on the rise.

Additionally, the move of Mitchell to the Cavs could be even more impactful than Gobert to Minnesota.

That’s because the Cavs, like the Timberwolves, already had a strong core at its center.

Out of these two teams, the Cavaliers are set for a bigger season, especially now with Mitchell on board.

All of these changes were obviously gigantic and they built these teams up – and also broke the Utah Jazz down.

The Jazz just lost their two biggest stars within a couple of months and are now in rebuilding mode.

The trades of Gobert and Mitchell started a fire sale that saw Utah trading away a slew of players for many others and a bunch of assets for the future.

Utah was the team most affected by this wild offseason.
