While Kevin Durant of the Phoenix Suns might not care about his legacy, it has become very clear that many other people do.

Since Durant’s comments about not paying attention to his legacy and standing in league history were released, numerous people have stepped forward to both attack and defend him.

Some people, like former player and current NBA analyst Kendrick Perkins, did a bit of both.

Perkins was on First Take and gave his opinion on Durant’s outlook on legacy.

“You should care about your legacy, you should care about wanting to win championships. I know how much he loves the damn game for him to utter something like this,” Perkins said.

Perkins, who played alongside Durant, believes that the star player should have more focus on how he is regarded among the rest of the league.

But there seems to be a disconnect between what Perkins and some analysts consider legacy and how Durant sees it.

Durant is all about winning as much as he can – that is truly what matters most to him.

But many people who comment on the NBA professionally consider legacy to be about more than winning.

They consider team loyalty, the number of rings accumulated, leadership skills, and more to be part of a legacy.

Aside from the rings, those things have never mattered as much to Durant.

No matter what he says, Durant definitely has a big legacy within the league.

The fact that so many people are talking about this minor comment shows the sort of impact he has on the NBA and how well-regarded and important he is.

This isn’t the first time that Durant has said something that gained a lot of media attention and it won’t be the last.

Durant gets people talking and that is part of his legacy.
