The Sacramento Kings are quite literally doing something they haven’t done in years.

On Thursday night, the powerful Western Conference contenders beat the Brooklyn Nets and improved their record to 42-27.

They are the second-best team in the West and will be making the playoffs for the first time in years.

NBA writer Carmichael Dave touched upon just how great this season has been for the Kings.

He noted that the Kings will finish the season above .500, the first time they have done so in years.

And Mike Brown will become just the second coach since the team’s creation to guide the Kings to more wins than losses.

Not only did he reform this team and put them in their best position in decades, but he has done so in his first season.

What is next for these Kings?

Fans of the team are elated to see what they can do in the playoffs.

But is there cause for concern and should they be a bit worried?

The honest answer is yes, of course.

The playoffs are very different from the regular season and the level of competition is going to hit a new level and a more intense degree of difficulty.

Also, the Kings are a great team but they are also a young team.

That means that most players do not have a lot of experience in the postseason.

However, Brown does and he is intent on imparting the wisdom he learned while coaching the Cleveland Cavaliers to this Kings team.

There will be a lot of factors working against them but the Kings are ready and eager to prove their biggest doubters wrong.
