Marvin Lewis Calls Out Bengals Reporter To ‘Fact Check’ Himself
After winning Super Bowl LVII with the Kansas City Chiefs in February, offensive tackle Orlando Brown Jr. is heading to the team the Chiefs defeated in the AFC Championship Game — the Cincinnati Bengals.
At his introductory press conference on Friday, Brown talked about an interesting and hilarious exchange that occurred when the Bengals conducted a pre-draft interview with him in 2018.
Marvin Lewis, who was then the team’s head coach, reportedly asked Brown what the capital of Spain was, and he said “Portugal.”
During his pre-draft interview, former Bengals coach Marvin Lewis asked Orlando Brown what the capital of Spain was.
Brown answered Portugal.

Of course, that wasn’t even close to the correct answer, and it is unclear why Lewis even asked such a question.
However, Lewis strongly disputed the story, and he even told Bengals reporter Ben Baby to “fact check” himself.

Brown’s geography ineptness aside, he will be an excellent addition to a Cincinnati team that perhaps just needs that one final piece in order to win its first world championship.
He has made the Pro Bowl in each of his last four seasons, and he has been remarkably durable despite playing a grueling position, as he has missed just one game during that span.
At 6-foot-8 and 340 pounds, he is a behemoth of a man who will be able to give quarterback Joe Burrow some outstanding protection.
Brown was considered the best left tackle available in free agency this year.
In that AFC Championship Game against Kansas City, the Bengals allowed 5.0 sacks and 12 QB hits, and it was no doubt a factor in Burrow completing just 26 of 41 passes and throwing two interceptions.
