Louisiana Swamp – Alligators and Cypress with Spanish Moss at Lake Martin, Lafayette LA

A late afternoon in the hot summer month of July we went into the swamps at Lake Martin at Lafayette, Louisiana. The Spanish moss was hanging down from the Cypress and Tupelo trees and the alligators were either sunbathing on a log or lurking close to the water surface. There was an abundance of greenery and as we entered more open areas we got to see lots of birds like the Blue Heron. It was a great experience and we really enjoyed the flora and fauna.
