Lars Nootbaar Has Taken His Celebration To Another Level
Lars Nootbaar is a fan favorite in St. Louis for a number of reasons.
St. Louis Cardinals fans love his stellar defense and the ability to come through in the clutch when needed the most.
But most of all, they love his fun-loving personality and how it seems to rub off on his teammates, even veterans such as Paul Goldschmidt, Nolan Arenado, and Adam Wainwright.
Nootbaar is quite popular in the clubhouse and even pioneered a famous celebration last year that has been taken to a whole new level.
Whenever Nootbaar gets a hit, he looks into the Cardinals dugout and makes the shape of a pepper mill, pretending to grind it.
And it appears that the celebration has taken on a life of its own, as the video in the tweet below shows.

Nootbaar is of course playing for Team Japan this spring in the World Baseball Classic.
He has teamed up with the likes of Shohei Ohtani, the Los Angeles Angels’ two-way superstar.
Nootbaar’s personality is so infectious that even Ohtani has started doing the “grind the pepper” motion.
In the video, several youth baseball players can be seen having a little fun with Nootbaar’s celebration.
It also appears that the news broadcasters like what Nootbaar has created and that the pepper grinder has become quite popular around the world.
