Teams that have quarterback needs in the NFL are slowly filling those positions.

The Carolina Panthers got Baker Mayfield to fill their quarterback position this season.

That now only leaves Jimmy Garoppolo as the last quarterback available in a trade.

However, the San Francisco 49ers haven’t gotten a team to take the quarterback.

While Garoppolo is a good fit for the 49ers, the team is building around second-year quarterback Trey Lance.

With their coaching staff gearing their game plans toward a running quarterback, it leaves their current QB out of the process.

But what other team would be a great fit for him, but won’t work out for the 49ers?

49ers Don’t Want To Trade Jimmy G To Seattle

The best landing spot for the 49ers veteran quarterback would be the Seattle Seahawks.

He’d get the starting job and have two good receivers in Tyler Lockett and DK Metcalf.

The team is also rebuilding their offensive line, which would help keep him protected.

However, the 49ers don’t want to trade him to a division rival.

If they did, it would be at the last possible moment.

If this 49ers fan is correct about his assumption with a Garoppolo trade, it would hurt his chances in Seattle.

It would also derail any chances of him showing that he’s an excellent quarterback that can win games without a stellar defense.

But is Seattle the only option and would he ever make it as a starting quarterback anywhere else?

Cleveland Could Trade For Garoppolo If Watson Faces A Year-Long Suspension

One other team who might go after the 49ers quarterback is the Cleveland Browns.

While they already made a trade for Deshaun Watson, and sent Baker Mayfield to Carolina, they might still need a QB.

The reason for this is that of Watson’s looming suspension from an investigation into his misconduct.

Going to the Browns would be a good second option for him, as the team wants to win now.

Former quarterback Robert Griffin III feels the same way about Jimmy G and him going to Cleveland.

While that would give him the starting job for 2022, he wouldn’t be around after the season was over.

That’s why it wouldn’t be a great place for him, as he wants a permanent starting job.

However, a good season there could cause his stock to rise in 2023.

Could Going To Cleveland Be The Best Alternative?

While no one really wants to be that guy backing up Watson in Cleveland, it could help Garoppolo.

With the Browns offense, which has a good running game along with a good tight end and wide receiver, Jimmy G would have it made.

He’d also have a season with a solid defense that Myles Garrett runs.

So he wouldn’t have a lack of talent in Cleveland to help him win games.

It would also give him that chance to show he’s worth of being a starting quarterback for any NFL team out there.

With the Cleveland option, he at least has a team he can use to prove his worth for a future starting job on another team.
