Mike White is becoming something of a fan favorite, whether you are or are not a fan of the New York Jets.

A backup for the Dallas Cowboys, White signed with the Jets in 2019.

He did not see any action until Jets quarterback Zach Wilson suffered an injury.

His first career start was in 2021, and he threw for over 400 yards.

White would return this season with the Jets, throwing for 315 yards in the Jets’ dominant win over the Chicago Bears.

Last week, he would nearly lead the Jets to a surprising victory over the Minnesota Vikings, before suffering a decline in form.

This week’s game against the Buffalo Bills gave White another chance to shock the NFL world.

While he did throw for 268 yards in the Jets loss to the Bills, White would not finish the game.

Due to multiple hits to his chest, White suffered two broken ribs, which took him out of the game.

Today, we got an update on his situation.

Day By Day

Jets head coach Robert Saleh today confirmed that White is day-to-day with his rib injury.

Saleh would go on to say that they are preparing for him to play against the Detroit Lions next week.

This is very good news for Jets fans.

While backup quarterback Joe Flacco has some experience, he is past his prime and has struggled in the games he has played.

If White returns, the Jets may have a chance of victory against the high-scoring Lions offense.
