With Mahomes already having 3,265 passing yards, 28 passing touchdowns, and a 107.3 passer rating, he’s clearly having a career year.
However, some of these numbers only top the NFL this season because of one player suffering an injury.
This injury kept another quarterback on the sidelines who could challenge Mahomes.

With Tua Tagovailoa missing several games because of a concussion, it hurt his touchdown and passing yards numbers.
However, the young quarterback is number one in many other important stats, despite missing those games.

He beats his counterpart in Kansas City in five different passing categories, which makes him the best player in the NFL.
While the Super Bowl champion quarterback is doing great, Tagovailoa is just better than him.
Had he not missed several games, there’s a chance he’d be number one in every passing category for 2022.
