0

GOP Louisiana Senator Bill Cassidy talks about how Louisiana has one of the highest maternal death rates in the country because Black women are included in the count and that if instances of maternal death were corrected by race then it would be reduced. The Majority Report crew discuss birth control wanting to be limited by some on the Right as many are adopting the view that life occurs at fertilization. The MR crew also talks about how Republicans like Cassidy lean on racism when talking about systemic failures, such as why women of color have higher instances of death when giving birth.

we got to play this Bill Cassidy clip these people on the right this is a u.s senator have no idea the level of just like the depth how deeply embedded their racist um uh ideas are and i mean to the point where they don’t they just no clue we saw this. remember all the maps if black people didn’t vote in the united states Donald trump got millions of more votes um. if my aunt had balls she’d be my uncle right except in this instance correct, in this instance, it’s like it is just explicitly saying we only really count white people and that we add in black people into the country just as like a thing you know it’s like an add-on, but the country is really white. and then we add on these other things listen to this he’s talking about um he is talking to it’s a conversation sponsored by Harvard school of public health, I mean how twisted is this he’s being interviewed by a political reporter Sarah Owermohle and hey ask about Louisiana’s maternal mortality rate listen to what he says.
