Former New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. recently held a workout open to NFL teams, and several squads reportedly had representatives at that workout.

One of the teams that were present was the Giants, which led to some speculation that they may be serious about reuniting with Beckham.

But ESPN’s Jordan Ranaan poured some cold water on that rumor by saying Beckham will be too expensive for the Giants.

Not too long ago, Beckham was one of the league’s best wideouts, and his vertical speed downfield was something to behold.

After being selected with the No. 12 pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, he won Offensive Rookie of the Year honors while going above 1,300 receiving yards and making the Pro Bowl in each of his first three seasons.

Beckham went to the Cleveland Browns in 2019, and just when it looked like he was making them into a respectable squad, he tore his ACL and missed the home stretch of the 2020 campaign, as well as their playoff victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Cleveland released him midway through the 2021 season, allowing him to join the Los Angeles Rams, but alas, he tore his ACL again during Super Bowl LVI, which the Rams won over the Cincinnati Bengals.

Beckham is just 30 years of age, so he could have a decent amount of football left in him, but there are obviously questions as to whether he still has enough speed and quickness to contribute to a good team.

He was looking to join a contender late last season, but nothing materialized.
