Darren Waller Gives His Thoughts On QB Daniel Jones
The New York Giants made a huge financial investment to keep Daniel Jones in town for years to come.
The former Duke quarterback hadn’t been impressive at all in his early years, but he had a breakout season under Brian Daboll and showed some signs of promise.
The Giants then doubled down on that investment by giving him an elite pass-catcher in Darren Waller.
And so far, so good for the former Las Vegas Raiders tight end, as he recently lauded his quarterback’s leadership and communication skills:
“He’s funny. He’s driven. When you know the guy that’s stepping in the huddle is out here putting all the work in and then some…that’s what I’ve learned about him,” Waller said.

Waller is looking at a fresh start in the Big Apple after a complicated final season under Josh McDaniels.
He struggled to stay on the field, but he’s proven to be one of the best playmakers at his position when healthy, becoming an inspiration around the league after overcoming addiction to get to where he is nowadays.
The Giants are expected to take another leap forward offensively in the second year under Daboll, one of the best offensive minds in the game.
There will be plenty of pressure on Jones to deliver after getting that big payday.
Some expect Jones to have a similar development to Josh Allen with the Buffalo Bills.
Should that be the case, then we could and should expect monster lines from Waller on his new team, assuming he’s able to stay healthy.
The Giants made the playoffs last season, but they’re still not on the same tier as other teams in their division, namely the Philadelphia Eagles.
