Bad Bunny, a rapper from Puerto Rico, has been sued in a recent lawsuit filed in Puerto Rico by his ex-fiance! Carliz De La Cruz Hernandez, the ex, filed a lawsuit in Spanish seeking $40 million in damages. Attorney Kevin Kneupper walks through the original lawsuit and an English translation. De La Cruz says that Bad Bunny – who she now refers to as Voldemort – used a recording she made in her friend’s bathroom of her saying “Bad Bunny, Baby” in numerous songs. She alleges that when his big new albums came out last year, his managers and record label started calling her up trying to get her to sign away her rights for just $2,000. But she’s now a lawyer herself, and she says she has rights to her own voice and to damages for him sampling it without written permission.
