Rarely do two identical twins play on the same professional sports teams, but it has happened before, and it’s happening again this spring.

The San Francisco Giants are heading into spring training with two identical brothers in their bullpen.

The Giants have had right-hander Tyler Rogers in their bullpen for a few seasons.

But this offseason, they added his brother, left-hander Taylor Rogers, who split last season with the San Diego Padres and Milwaukee Brewers.

By joining forces with the Giants, Taylor and Tyler have become just the fourth set of identical twin brothers to play on the same MLB team.

Below is a tweet courtesy of MLB Network, which shows a list of identical brothers who have played on the same MLB team at the same time.

The Giants are obviously not the first team to have accomplished this feat.

The Oakland Athletics had two identical brothers back in 1990, with slugger Jose Canseco and his brother Ozzie.

The Pittsburgh Pirates had both Eddie and Johnny O’Brien on their roster at the same time twice, in 1953 and from 1955-58.

In 1915, the Boston Braves also had two identical twins on their roster.

Joe and Red Shannon were both a part of the team that year.

But it’s an interesting coincidence that has occurred five times in MLB history.

Tyler and Taylor got a chance to play against each other multiple times last season, with Taylor having spent time in San Diego.

But now, they’ll both suit up in Giants orange and black and will look to accomplish big things together.
