2 Bears Players Who Likely Won’t Return In 2023
Fans already know 2023 is a focal point for the Chicago Bears as they rebuild their franchise.
After making several trades during the 2022 season, it’s clear the Bears are cleaning house.
While players like Justin Fields are safe, some other players might not have the same luxury.
With 2023 right around the corner, which two players will most like be gone from the Bears when the new NFL season begins?
David Montgomery
David Montgomery will be an unfortunate loss for the Bears in 2023.
His leaving Chicago might not be because he wants to go, but because the Bears don’t want to keep him.
While he’s put in solid work for the team since they drafted him, his contract expires in 2023.
With the Bears not re-signing him so far, they might look to Khalil Herbert to replace him.
Before his injury, Herbert was ahead of Montgomery in the running game.
Khalil Herbert has more rushing yards than David Montgomery.
Herbert was Montgomery’s backup and has not played since Week 10.

However, after Montgomery’s big game against the Philadelphia Eagles, he’s finally passed Herbert.
But even with that game last Sunday, it won’t save him from getting released.
N’Keal Harry
The Bears took a risk when they made a trade for receiver N’Keal Harry.
That risk is turning into a bust, as Harry’s season is an utter disappointment.
Between injuries and not getting the ball, Harry has been a non-factor this season.
With his contract expiring in 2023, it’s likely the Bears let him walk.
He’s played only four games this season because of injuries, and has five total catches for the season.
With these horrible numbers, there’s no way the Bears keep him when 2023 comes around.
