There have been many quarterback conversations during the 2023 NFL offseason.

While Aaron Rodgers has dominated airways thus far, Lamar Jackson has been a strong number two.

Jackson was franchise-tagged by the Baltimore Ravens after being unable to come to a long-term contract extension.

Because the Ravens placed the non-exclusive tag on him, other teams were initially expected to be in the mix to sign him.

While there haven’t been any front-runners to this point, there has been a recent development with the Indianapolis Colts.

According to NFL reporter Stephen Holder, the Colts “did not rule out” having discussions with Jackson.

The Colts have released Matt Ryan, who was underwhelming during the 2022 season.

Now, the Colts are in the market for a new quarterback.

Many have initially thought that the Colts would pursue a rookie at the position, given their fourth overall position in the 2023 NFL Draft.

However, with the Carolina Panthers moving to the first overall slot, and the Houston Texans in line to draft a quarterback with the second pick, the Colts might have to get creative.

Jackson is a former league MVP and has found great success throughout his career thus far.

With injury concerns mounting over the past few seasons, Jackson’s value has diminished in the public eye, at least, to some.

However, after the season that they had in 2022, the Colts might be looking for a splash play at quarterback.

Even with injury concerns, Jackson would certainly provide immense upside for their organization.

Will the Colts end up pursuing Jackson and sign him to a long-term deal?
